Hello Pastors and Fellow Christians,

I hope your Christmas and your New Year were great. We had family visit us here in Taos, NM. We had a good time making homemade tamales and a combination of posole, menudo, and pigs feet! Talk about good food. Some of you might think that what we eat was “mission field” food, but we grew up with that type of food. During that time we got about 8 inches of snow. A few inches melted, but a few days later we got another 10 inches! My family really enjoyed the snow when they were up visiting.

Big News! We are expecting another child! We found out that we are expecting a few days after our last letter we sent. We ask that you pray for this. Last May, before we started our church, Eileen had a miscarriage. Eileen is 13 weeks along, and she was 12 weeks when she had the previous miscarriage, so we passed that mark. We know that God is in control, so just pray that God’s will be done.

Good News! As you know, we do not have all the financial support that we need to live in Taos. Since our last letter, I was able to find a job that is able to help with our needs. I still ask that you continue your support, because the job is just making up the difference. The BIG blessing is that with our current church tithes, our church is self-supporting! I ask that you pray that by two years of our church opening (May 18th, 2008) that our church would be able to take the place of both your support and my job. Our projected time to be on this plan would make it five years before we are self-supporting, be we know God is able, and we would really like to see our church to be self-supporting in two years. This would enable your churches to give to needs where the missionary does not have the ability to work in a foreign field.

Lastly, we are in the process of getting a van for our ministry. My home church, Valley Bible Baptist Church, is going to give our ministry a van so we can start a route to pick up families that have a hard time getting to church. I realized the need when out door knocking. There are many people, not just children, that would come if they had a ride to church. I began to pray, and God used our home church to fill the need. Please pray that God would give an increase of people as a result of this tool we plan to use for His Glory.

The Montoya family would appreciate your prayers in the following requests:
God’s Power in our family
Attendance of 30 people
Salvation of souls in Taos, NM
Baptism of those saved
God’s Power in the county of Taos
Continued monthly support
I am still seeking employment – Prayer Answered!!
In a small town, it may take as long as five years for our ministry to be self supporting (including a pastors salary)
After the establishment of this ministry, we plan start another church in the Southwest.
Song Leader and Pianist (I think the people are tired of hearing my voice, as I make a joyful Noise unto the Lord)

Thank You and God Bless,
The Montoya Family
